All those donations? Last time a figure was mentioned it was peanuts - maybe a few hundred pounds not thousands- hardly enough to pay a techie for a day's work a month

Sadly, it is right to point out that we don't get as much support from Donations as we would have hoped.

There were numerous problems with the ads displayed on AB for some users (particularly, it seemed, for those using Safari on iPads but sometimes for others too).  People were simply giving up on the site altogether because they found it to be unusable on their devices.

So, as an experiment, those at AB Towers decided to remove the ads from pages being viewed by logged-in users but asked for donations to make up the shortfall in the company's income instead. A few of us have donated but, clearly, not as many as the Eds had hoped for.
