Nasty Clique
It appears to me that whenever Gulliver starts a thread, a small clique then join together in discussing, not the subject of the OP, but the personality of Gulliver, usually in a fairly unpleasant manner.
I would have thought this was in contravention of a site rule (The User has used rude, abusive or generally unpleasant language.) but the Mods never seem to react adversely. Could it be because they favour the clique - no surely not, I don't believe it.

Gulliver has been incredibly protected by the mods and site (probably because his constant rubbing your nose in it threads attract traffic).
As for the past, even the great and good were never nice to everybody. All the regulars were nasty to people at some point in time. You'd have to be blind to have missed it.
All very worthy sycophantic fawning BS, but the fact remains if Gulliver actually debated instead of lobbing non-sequiturs and mostly (I said mostly before the fauners pile in) baseless comments and lies, people would have more respect and would engage in debate with him.
I cannot recall a single instance of Gulliver joining in a debate and providing a robust counter-argument...or any counter argument much less a robust one.
In the Wetherspoon thread NJ utterly destroyed him, but rather trying to counter the destruction he simply posts something which wasn't true.
This is why people get frustrated, although fair game play he does produce traffic on this dying site.
