Please Help With Helping An Old Person...

Very many thanks for your good advice re posting links which you offered me yesterday on CL's thread.I have just experimented with it and achieved it first attempt.
It seriously bugged me when some of us lost the ability to C&P in favour of e-mojis.I hope MargoTester gives it a try as I know she was in the same boat. It seems you definitely can teach an old dog new tricks. My thanks again for your help. Very much appreciated.

First type https://www. ... Then copy and paste the rest of the url/ link that is after that in the web address without a space. No space after you type https://www. is important.
Glad you got it Retro. I have posted that method a few times now including in Tech and on the Ed's blog. I first posted it for instance on the day that the emoji facility was implemented when I, and others, could not get links posted. It should really be fixed by now. When the site is struggling to attract and keep contributors to the site it is not going to help if they find that posting links is not a supported option in the normal way.

Thanks for this info, I was having the same problem. Above is just a random link to try it out!
Hi Margo. I agree that it is a bit of a palaver. It was easier before 'improvements'. I am surprised the Eds haven't given this problem their full attention and instructed the so-called techies to sort it. They seem indifferent about these problems but are happy to encourage inane posts which go on for about 300 threadsAt least Togo's advice has got me a little way forward as I was about to look for a site elsewhere.
