As far as I'm concerned there are only two places I visit regularly now.  Chatterbank and Quizzes and puzzles.  I look in at TV and body and soul sometimes.  The News Section has been  ruined by a few.   Chatterbank seems dominated by ridiculously long threads of nonsense by one person.  

This site has had its day.  Its surely Quizzes and Puzzles that keeps it going.  Has the owner and editor fled the nest?

I believe the OP plus some of the comments are just a bad case of the Monday morning blues, on a Tuesday :0) or the aftermath of recent indulgence maybe. This thread is wanting me to stay away because its turning into what you appear to be complaining about. So I will take a dose of my own advice, stay away, Hope you all have as good new year as possible!! See you on other threads.

Pasta, I agree.  Why should I stay away when I don't like how it is going.  But that's what the Mods suggest.  There's no way enough moderation in that section,

I keep popping into animals and nature,  but not much more,   really fed up with let's see how far this goes,... Done to death pleeeeze..... Mostly try to say goodmorning, and add stuff to health threads that fall within my areas of experience.  Still chip in On news if it's something I feel strongly about or have specific experience, or sometimes if I can drop a little grenade and duck out again...

I hate the if you don't like it, stay away attitude. That just tells people not to participate. 

I tend to feel that "the one person" needs help...but doesn't really know how to implement advice given. I feel sympathy...and a bit protective for them. But that's me

Q&P and Crosswords between them have always had the most use, I remember at least two previous Eds saying as much.

When I started here you weren't allowed to say anthing more off-topic than "Good morning"; threads about "what are you having for dinner?" were deleted. But that was really before the present golden age of social media where people are permitted, even encouraged, to be as angry and aggressive as they like.

 

I don't blame people for avoiding the place, I'm not on here nearly as much as I used to be, and neither are a lot of the people whose posts I most enjoyed.

Many people still seem to like it, a little breakaway from the usual Yawnothon that has become AB lately. As long as folk keep posting on the thread I will keep it going. Happy New yearXx
