Was a little net bag of sugar almonds.

Anyone remember these left at your plate settings at weddings?

Did anyone like them?

I loved sugar almonds.

the last wedding we went to we got a whisky miniature each

Well I've just learned something new!

The favours were meant to signify something, but I cannot remember which.  I did quite like them.

When we got married, I made my own favours of 3 flavours of home-made fudge in little hand tied boxes.

And we said "please do not give us presents, we have everything we need.  Just join us".

Well, it was not as if we were a young couple starting off in life and we needed a third toaster or a fourth set of coasters.  And attending weddings is expensive - particularly if you have to travel, without having to think of a gift.  We just wanted our mates there for a proper good knees up.  We just pleased that so many of our friends came from such a long way to share it with us.  That was all we wanted.

All the weddings I went to as a youngster had sugar almonds as favours. Not surprising as they were all Italian family weddings.

We actually hate the big brash weddings -  we  always find an excuse not  to go.
