I have Broadband internet connection with cable company (NTL). I set up the connection by plugging RJ45 cable into local area network slot of my computer. The internet was running well. Then with the same way as I did to my laptop, i set up the connection in my desktop PC (unpludded the RJ45 cable from my laptop then plugged it in to the LAN of my desktop). I tested the internet after setting up the connection, and it was running well too. However, when I tried to connect the Internet on the laptop (after pluggeld the RJ45 back to my laptop of corse), the warning appeared to tell me that I had no Internet connection.
Does anybody out there know why I had this problem?
You will likely have to turn off the cable modem for a second or two as you switch between them; it'll associate the unique mac address of each device.
