i am following this thread, not because im doing dry january (i'm dry all the time) but because it helps me realise how far/close payday is!

I'm going to carry on after Jan. I don't want to go back to the amount I was drinking and if I start again I can't trust myself not to!

Plus it'll give my liver more time to recover.

Bought a nice bottle of malt to celebrate my abstinence. 

From Feb I'm only going to drink at weekends.

I've been dry since the 5th. Maybe I'll continue until Feb 5. We shall see. I only ever have one measured glass of red per night...it helps the bottle to last. I've missed it a few times...not desperate though.

I won't go back on the booze for as long as it takes to lose about 4 st. I have already lost just over one and half stones since 1st Jan and happy to continue t''l I meet my target weight.

My dilemma is; theoretically, January ends at midnight on Wednesday. As I will be in bed by then, and don't drink in the daytime, to be purist I should have to wait until Thursday evening which is well into February. 

So I'm thinking of lighting my log fire as usual at 6:00pm and opening a bottle six hours early Wednesday evening. - Opinions please. 🙂

Interesting dave, I'd no idea it was so widespread.

I've been toying with the idea of what Pasta calls 'cheating' that is to say, should I have beer 6 hours early, i.e. 6:00pm tonight, or wait until 6:00pm tomorrow night which would be 18 hours late.

I think it's always better to be early than late.  Cheers! 🍻
