Hi All,

Does anyone remember 'Who's Line is it Anyway?'

I was having a fantastic time watching sketches from this on youtube yesterday and it made me wonder why it ever stopped?

What happened to regulars like Ryan Stiles?

I think if they brought it back it would be a real ratings winner, what do you reckon? Or am I talking out of my botty and it's actually never stopped being on the telly in America?

Anyway, sorry to ask so many questions but I got really excited watching it yesterday.

Cheers
China xx

I loved it, I was about 14 and had a small tv in my bedrrom that I shared with my sis and I always remember watching it really quietly on a Friday night.
I thought it was really good, was only just wondering myself the other day after watching "mock the week" and i too thought Ryan Stiles in particular. What was the woman called 'Josie someone' Was it lawrence? Or is that someone else. It was pretty good though, except i'm not too keen on clive anderson.
I'm not sure this really answers any of your questions, but it's a memory-jogger: http://www.ukgameshows.com/page/index.php/Whos e_Line_is_it_Anyway%3F

and the USA remake

Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, Greg Proops, Stephen Frost, all stand out for me
Pretty sure I've seen Ryan Stiles in (major-release) films, as well as Mike McShane, who also did Air Canada adverts. Paul Merton now hosts 'Have I Got News For You', I think, and Josie Lawrence went back to theatre / musicals. Sandi Toksvig is or was on R4, and didn't Tony Slattery go off the rails for a bit?
Quality show!

My thanks to, Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, Tony Slattery, Greg Proops, Richard Vranch on the Piano, this is me Clive Anderson saying Goodnight, Goodnight! (All said in about two seconds flat!)
I absolutely loved this. I can't remember what channel it was on but it has been repeated over the last year or so. Ryan was my fave.
The US version is still going, which features former UK regulars such as Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie and Greg Proops. The Comedy Store Players featuring improvisers such as Paul Merton, Josie Lawrence, Stephen Frost and Jim Sweeney still perform on a weekly basis at the Comedy Store in London, as well as often performing at the Edinburgh Fringe. Oh, and I'm in an improv troupe in Birmingham who perform regularly around the city, as well as going to Edinburgh every summer!
I really miss this too. I never cared much for the American version although I did like some of the Americans who were in the UK one - Ryan Stiles, Greg Proops etc. You can't even get it on DVD but Amazon has a couple of videos in the New and Used section.
I'd really love to watch an episode now!!!
I am sure I remember something about one of the US stars Ryan or Greg having trouble getting another visa for here - Tony Slattery had a bit of a coke habit for a while.

Josie Lawrence used to **** me off she always had to bloody well sing

Mike McShane was on morning tv a few months ago. He's lost loads of weight and doesn't look like the same bloke.
One of my favourite scenes was when they are at a party and the host answers the doorbell.

The theme was 'weightwatchers' and Paul Merton just said to Josie Lawrence "No luck then?" Brilliant!

What a great response!

I have to say that if anyone is missing it and really needs a quick fix, youtube has loads of stuff on there, I was nearly late meeting friends as was having such a good old chuckle to myself.

Ryan and Colin were my favourites too... such elasticy faces.... but Stephen Frost also stood out. He also had a commedy night in a pub that's about ten minutes from my mums house and I used to go there most saturdays.

Robbo... next time you're in London, let me know and I'll come down and see.
