Good evening, all!

A somewhat better than usual start for me this week, with a score of FIVE out of seven in the main quiz:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-68168938

Aunty Beeb seems to have got rid of the technical problems which affected last week’s junior quiz (although it still took ages to load for me). I managed a middling THREE out of five on it:

Your turn now, folks!

6/7 (stupid Vikings) & 3/5

Question Author

Hi, Haras2.

I've not noticed any lambs out in the fields here yet (although, to be honest, I'd probably have to go some distance to see them anyway - East Anglia is largely arable country).

Thanks for letting me beat you - and for your kind words regarding my health.  (I hope that you're well too!).

Have you got your skis ready?

Question Author

Well done, Lie-in King.

Top of the table, as usual!

I'm too ancient for skiing but the local schools were closed for the day and the kids had a great time sledging....

My friend Boby, who lives in Italy, was 80 this week.  He's finally given up skiing - but only because he's under orders from his wife!

These continentals !

What are they like?

Fit !

4/7

3/5

Question Author

'Double middling', Zebo!

Consistent, anyway!

Congratulations Chris/Buen!  Me... 4/7  (2 were guesses) and 3/5 ... (1 guess).  😊

Question Author

Hi, Jourdain2!

I think that I can just write 'ditto' here, underneath my post to Zebo!

Good Evening, Chris!

My scores tonight are

4/7, 3/5

Really just lots of guesses tonight.

Wonderful to hear that  your consultant had such good news and  hoping that this continues.

I'm looking forward to celebrating my Dad's 80th birthday tomorrow and catching up with family and friends.

Wishing you and the terrific trio a wonderful week ahead :-)

Question Author

Good evening, Karamia!

You're the third person in a row with 'double middling' scores!

With you only being 21, your Dad must have had you really late in life! 😉
[I hope that the celebrations will really go with a swing!]

Thank you for your best wishes in regard to my health.  I hope that you're in good shape too!

I'm sure that the Terrific Trio will have a wonderful week, unless I annoy Tablo by finally booting her off my desk.  [I must have had to restart my laptop at least 15 times today, and then recover all my documents and web pages each time, because she's decided that the best route to where she wants to sleep is via the laptop's keyboard!].  I'll do my best to have a good week too and I hope that everything goes well for you.

3/7,3/5. Consistently middling. Just come home from a colleague's leaving do and brought home a little piece of party cake with cream, Puss Puss and Bailey are licking the napkin. Hope yours aren't as deprived....

Question Author

Hi, Campbellking.

Solid enough scores from you this week, anyway.

My lot rarely get to sample any cream but Tablo is obsessed with cheese and Chequers regards it as his duty to lick every plate clean for me.  (I sometimes sneak a few little extra treats to Moonbeam though, just to make up for all of the totally unofficial ones that he misses out on).

I hope that all three of you will have a lovely week!

6/7 - got the population question wrong

3/5 in the junior quiz

Question Author

Well done, Ken!

You're in joint first position, alongside the mighty Lie-in King, this week!

I hope that you'll have a good Saturday with Betfred (or whoever!) and a great week ahead of you!

Good morning. 3 for both this week but I did know most of those. Guessing up the creek!

Have had a small lodger a couple of days this week, brought in by one of the cats and took up residence under the unit. We weren't sure where it went but the cats knew! Bought a couple of humane traps and the second evening the lure of apple and bird food was too much. Luckily not too cold so taken to some rough ground near by. One mouse that was brought in some years ago was in such bad shape we put it in a tank to pass away peacefully, it lived almost five years!

Question Author

Hi, Roo!

Decent enough scores from you this week, I see!  (My guessing is nearly always up the creek!)

Well done on rescuing the mouse!  I'm rarely lucky enough to be able to save one before one of my cats swiftly despatches it to murine heaven 😞
