Mod bands!
Can you think of any 60s bands that had female singers? Other than Jefferson Airplane. Pref mod era rather than hippy!
Thanks!

They did do an album called "The Mod Years 1965-69" but it might be tricky to find. (I bet you're looking for cover versions to perform aren't you? Try Season of the Witch, Indian Rope Man or Black Cat)
If anyone reads this and has never heard of Brian Auger, I urge you to buy any CD (there is a Best Of available). I only discovered him a couple of years ago and he's amazing.

Mentioning Julie Driscoll (hartley), remember her in Steampacket also with Brian Auger (Long John Baldry & Rod Stewart aswell), and what about Shotgun Express, with Rod again and Beryl Marsden on vocals and Peter Green & Mick Fleetwood too.
Oh, and just a quick thanx to ScreaminTree for mentioning Sharon Tandy's "Hold On", one of the best tracks EVER !!! with a guitar solo to die for.

Hartley and whattheheck - persons after my own heart! Scarlett, I too recommend Julie Driscoll & The Brian Auger Trinity. "Open" is a very good album I think (contrary to most popular opinion) and "Streetnoise" is even better. There are also one or 2 cracking comps. lurking about. Essential stuff. Watch out for Auger's Oblivion Express though - post-Trinity, still good, but Jazz-Rock.
Whattheheck, you're 100% right about "Hold On". If you're looking for songs to perform Scarlett, do it!!
