Paypal is very safe and an excellent way of paying for things...their guarantee is excellent....if you don't get the service you paid for its quite simple to make a claim....and its settled very quickly usually in your favour. (We had London bus tour tickets and didn't get what we paid for due to many roads being closed which they hadn't told us about....we got a full refund)I think you just open an account. It will then need to be verified via your bank account by them . All very straightforward.
I am unable to use my paypal account as I was scammed and they still insist I owe them money. However I sometimes get paypal come up as an option to pay for things ordered online which I can do without actually having to go into my account. I think it is different to actually having your own paypal account, ie it is the seller who has the account and you pay direct into it via paypal if that makes sense.
