When I try to send a message to all my contacts it only lets me scroll about halfway through the alphabet

Are you trying to send the message to everyone in your contact list at the same time?
If so, I think you're limited as to how many you can send at once (I think it's 150), so maybe once you've selected 150 contacts, it will stop scrolling through your contact list?
