What size screen do you want?  Do you need it to be portable with a long battery life or will you mainly use it at home with it plugged in?

This is the second time that you've asked this question recently, Henry!

DVDs are now seen as an outdated form of media.  For example, almost all supermarkets have now ceased selling them and many movie distributors are no longer releasing new movies onto DVDs.  (Video streaming services, such as Netflix, have largely replaced DVDs).  Therefore laptop manufacturers are no longer including DVD drives within their devices.

So, if you're looking for a laptop with a built-in DVD drive, you're almost certainly going to have to buy a second user machine, probably with Windows 10 on it (rather than Windows 11).

If I was in your position, I'd be very tempted by this:

That one was released 10 years ago, Buen, but at £169 it should be okay.

I looked at that link, bookbinder, and from what I could tell when I followed the links was that none of them had a DVD drive.

Acer 3 did have a DVD drive 5 years ago but Acer don't make any laptops with DVD drives now

Well yes but a fair few people do have collections (like one of my siL) 

An external one is the best option.  They should plug and play these days on Windows at least.
