I got my car last September and hurriedly got insurance which is £78 a month.  £936 a year.

Just hypothetically - if I was to get a lower quote from another insurance company - would it be worth my while to go for the cheapest in the middle of this, ie would I be penalised?

Go back to him and ask about getting a cheaper deal.  He will be able to tell you about the penalties for early cancellation and whether it is worth it or not.

Never pay for insurance monthly if you have the cash to pay in full - you are paying (probably high) interest every month.

Ach I'll leave it alone for this year - when it is up I will do more searching.  There are another few local brokers I can do face to face and so I can pay them a visit.  I have always paid monthly.

Just aside - I have contacted Gogroopie and SR Living - it is only in the last 2 days about the mattress being cancelled but I have heard nothing from them.

Why do you choose to pay monthly?  Unless you can't afford to pay in full it doesn't benefit you in any way and costs more
