But Russia is the country with most contiguous timezones?

Yes

Australia?

I would have thought Antarctica as it has all of them

drmorgans //So one hoovers with a Hoover (or dysons with a Dyson)?//

To 'hoover' has definitely entered the language as a verb, but I've yet to hear anyone say they are going to dyson the carpets

I now shark mine....  Or rather say I am shark fishing ( for dust)

Ta. Knew that. Attempted joke.

Antarctica has ten timezones (according to Google)

I just asked our son: he answered correctly before I had hardly finished asking (!)

AND he knew the number for the UK which I had also just googled. No need for wikipedia with him it seems

I suspect Antarctica isn't a country.

It's a standard well known quiz question. It arises because of the oddities of the way the country concerned determines its overseas territories.

I didn't know the answer, but on thinking it over France has all the 'Outremer' territories which are part of France - Martinique etc. so there will be lots of time zones.

When working-out av. temperatures, to avoid paying ex-pats in France the Winter fuel allowance, the Govt. added in the outremeres. They brought it only just above the required temp..  :)

And there was me thinking it was the land of cuckoo clocks. Switzerland.

I would go with France

What is the answer? lol

France

France??

It includes its overseas territories
