'Yes', says Miriam Margolyes who played Professor Sprout in the movies.  'Adults should get over it', she says. Well, I'm a fan and I've no intention of getting over it.  For lessons in life, it beats the bible (another book I'm quite familiar with) hands down!   How about you?  Are you a fan?

Whatever M Margolyes thinks about anything, it's fairly sure I'll be thinking the opposite.

I read the first few books and have the set but I ran out of steam and didn't get to the end. All a bit repetitive in the end. However there is nothing wrong in adults reading good children's fiction.

Give me Worzel Gummage any day!

Thanks for BA Naomi.  She thinks she's so funny and wise. I suppose she must be popular or she wouldn't get the parts.  It beats me, it really does.

I read them.... Having grown up on a literature diet of sword and sorcery, otherworld, and science fiction, including Tolkien, Michael Moorcock, Anne McCaffrey ( Dragonriders of pern) they compared quite well.   I agree the earlier books were more captivating but I think there was a deliberate attempt to Age match with the early fan base so the main characters avoided being seen as stuck in childhood as their fans aged into their teens.
