Is there anybody on here who can answer the following question : After a tooth extraction how long would you have to wait before you can have a denture fitted ?? My dentist says 3 months but for various reasons I don't agree with her. Any help would be more than helpful

An online friend of mine had all her top teeth removed last week due to gum  disease and they were all becoming loose, and he fitted her denture that day!!  Which I think is insane. She was completely swollen, still in pain and bleeding, and couldn't even eat!

Ill ask in work tomorrow, I work in a dental hospital.

Immediately after, then adjusted when the gum shrinks.

How many teeth, were they removed surgically?

It was not unusual to have your teeth removed and dentures fitted straight away in the 70s.  I had to visit the dentist for measurements before I had mine done.   I went first for the top set and about two weeks after for the bottom set. I was injected in my arm and when I came round the dentures were in place. Had to keep them in for three days and  lots of mouthwashing with salt/water. Soup and soft foods . Fortunately my gums didn't bleed a lot and after three days I was able to take the dentures out and clean them.

Just experienced this,  the dentist said a week, it was 10 days before the mould was taken, and two weeks after that I had the final adjustments

Sounds painful Rowanwitch.... did it all heal quickly? My online friend is really struggling with hers : (

^^^Should have said that due to decay I had to have the teeth removed. Not a vanity project.
