Draughty Bus Journey.
I got on a No18 bus yesterday from Shudehill in Manchester to Middleton. As soon as the bus moved off, I noticed how cold and draughty it was. I couldn't see any doors or windows open but it was a really strong and cold draught. Looking closer, there was a window missing from the offside of the bus. Yep. No glass at all! Yikes! I told the driver and he stopped the bus, told everyone to get off and he phoned in the defect.
The point is though, how could the driver have not noticed this before he set off? Surely they do a pre-operational check, don't they? Brakes, lights, tyres, bodywork etc? T'would seem not!

The driver said he'd only just come on duty. There were no pieces of glass on the floor, which was strange, as that stuff gets everywhere when it's broken.
Maydup, I did wait till my stop to tell him!
Elliemay1, that actually happened to me as well! On a plane coming back from Malta. We were one hour into the flight when the Captain came on the system and said we would have to return to Luqa "due to a technical problem". Turns out it was a cracked window! Twas a fairly quick fix but we had to wait in the airport for 5 hours as there wasn't a crew available to man the plane. Happy days!
