Matakari, those three need to be paired up, though they are all linked.  As you have everything else, you need something that goes before 3 D. 26 A  needs a surname. and 31 is a two- word answer (I can't remember the preamble wording). You must have entries in your grid that don't really stand up on their own, but I hope you'll manage to tie them all together!

Everything complete apart from 2 letters to finish 29Ac & 29Dn - I just cannot see them and it's doing my head in! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Xris, the 'bob' in 29 D is a piece of sporting equipment. The word for 'drunk', intoxicated, was new to me, but it's in Chambers.

Thanks, NACW, I was concentrating on the wrong definitions in both but believe that "back" may be superfluous in 29Ac?

Xris, glad that helped. I didn't see the 'back' as superfluous - it's given in the definition in Chambers. The definition lost the letter I wanted, needed to get the message, instruction.
