He appears to think that pensioners haven't noticed that the triple lock is not worth very much on a small pension and that many more pensioners will now be paying income tax. If the income is now £1300 p.a. precious little advantage has been gained - and prices of essentials such as rates - have gone up more than the increase in some cases.

News for Mr. Sunak is that 'We have'.

Its such a hiss take for him to think he can spin the same old bribes that they have done for 14years and get away with it.

I hope all parties swear they will do this. So far we've had NI relief, unhelpful to pensioners, and the knowledge that other taxes will inevitably rise to make up the shortfall. Triple lock is the least they all could do.
