Friday Fish…Again

We've just had Sainsbury’s cod in some crispy batter which was soooo lovely. We just had it with peas and bread and butter. Might have a nectarine for afters.

before i went to the pub, had tesco breaded fillets with pototoes,cabbage, carrots and peas finished off with a slice of vienetta.

It was fish for me too.  A Morrison's salmon fillet, to be precise:

They're currently on offer, with two packets for £7.  So that's only around 90p per fillet.  (It's a 'mix & match' offer, with other types of fish fillets included too).

I cooked that in my air fryer and served it with a well-buttered jacket potato, with the whole lot covered in Bisto instant cheese sauce.

Morrison's limoncello desserts are on a 'mix & match'offer two, with two packs for £3.  So that's 75p each:

My rather tasty two-course meal therefore worked out at around £2 in total, which suits my budget quite well.  (It's certainly a lot better value than the £8 I had to pay this afternoon in a café, for a slice of carrot cake and a chai latte!)

Chris, what are the frozen salmon fillets like from Morrisons?

I'm not keen on the ones from Tesco, but have heard the ones from Iceland are ok.

Omelette stuffed with mushrooms and peppers and boiled white rice. Needed something a bit different it was nice.

Waiting for that to sink before i have a slice of bread pudding and a little cream on top.😁

I like the frozen salmon fillets from Morrisons.  Their cod fillets are OK too but some of the smoked haddock ones I've had have been of very poor quality.

We had a prawn and noodle stirfry. I thought it was nice. Husband complained about the amount of chilli. I said I only put a little bit in. He said 'Can I have half a little bit next time?'

Stir fry moght be on the cards tomorrow now you've mentioned it retro and clover, I love a stir fry and found some prawns in the freezer earlier.
