No, I never lived there.  It was literally on the other side of the tracks.  All who lived there were mostly Protestants.  Cross the Boyne Bridge and you were soon on the Grosvenor Rd which was mostly Catholics.

The system of honours (and the appointment of peers) needs an overhaul.

It's been abused for a long time. e g under Blair government. (Was it Cons or Labour? I'm sure someone will check it out for me.)

Would there have been any complaints on here if he hadn't donated any money? Has anyone complained about the other awards given (Spencer, Crouch, Baldwin, Davies). Are people also saying the award to Mansour is less justified than the awards to the other 3?  Perhaps his ethnicity has  upset people subconciously?
