The bigwigs at Radio 4 have moved The Archers omnibus from its regular slot.  What can they be thinking?

Yes I'm furiuos too. Others can take the pee but 10-1115 on a Sunday morning has always been our loll in the living room listening to the radio time. I listened to it once - some time in the 50s I think.

is Mrs. Dales' Diary still on?

I'm doing OK so far. Got through most of the crosswords and puzzles in the MOS.

Yes I'm furiuos too. Others can take the pee but 10-1115 on a Sunday morning has always been our loll in the living room listening to the radio time. Once it finished was always a marker to get on with stuff. People knew not to phone while it was on. All thrown out the window by some eejit at the BBC R4 who thinks a new broom must muck about with stuff and suck up to a perceived demographic of listener that in fact doesn't even listen to their station.

I was a bit miffed when they moved "Homes Under the Hammer" from 10am to 11.15am. I rarely watch it now.

"If it works, don't fix it."

It's sad how often that is ignored by powers-that-be.

I'm not a radio person, but the BBC does this all the time with their tv schedule. Daytime and night. For about 6 weeks, Homes Under the Hammer was on later, and reduced to 45 minutes. I relax with my first coffee at that time. And Masterchef is on at a different time each night...usually at 8 on a Friday. It was at 7:30 the other night and I missed it. Yes, I know there's iPlayer...but what happened to consistency?

Dave, it's been on at 11:15 for years.

The Archers is like any other addiction, the enslaved will follow the supply.

Luckily I've never fallen under the spell of people shouting as they fade into the vitual distance only to return again to do absolutely nothing of consequence for minutes at a time.

Sandy, i now have an image of you slapping yourself around the head, a-la-Rain Man, because your routine has been disturbed πŸ˜‰

Your thinly disguised "Oi baldy" remark is unhelpful, Ken. πŸ˜ƒ

Similar things happening on Radio 3.  New (ex-Classic FM) boss either moving programmes and presenters or getting rid of them altogether.  Breadth of repertoire also much reduced - hugely disappointing.

Have any of you heard of bbc sounds? The archers omnibus is downloaded from midnight on Saturday.

I don't think any of the R3 presenters have been sacked. I know the Sunday breakfast guy has retired.

The enslaved will follow the supply. Just because one mocks the Archers surely doesn't mean you can't empathise with the impact of the change for others?? The omnibus has been at 1000 on a Sunday morning for at least 25 years.

The adaptability of the human race will find a solution to this latest crisis and we'll all move on to a jaunty wee tune.

Very melodic, Doug😊

I use it as a turn-off cue. They DID advertise it, and so I had to shift the time I turned me tranny ( old use of word) off.
