Printer Offline Message

My printer works fine, then suddenly without warning when I try to print anything it says 'Printer offline, cant print'  Ive switched it on and off several times which usually solves it, but this time it still telling me 'Printer offline' Im not that tech savvy, any help appreciated. Its a HP Deskjet Plus 4122. Thanks in advance.

I get this from time to time (Canon printer) and the switch off/on remedy usually works but it can fail if I get the timing wrong (i.e. switch on when PC will be searching for printer) - a second or third attempt (after re-issuing the print comand) usually works. Sorry I can't be more helpful. I will follow this thread with interest. Good luck.

 

P.S. Have you checked the cables, one may have come loose/slipped out.

Thanks Canary42. Yes Ive checked the cables, thought of that just now...lol. Still not printing. Will keep trying

Have you put new ink cartridges in?

How is the printer connected? USB or WiFi?
