It wouldn't cost much, the difficulty will be in finding somebody to do it. Seems to me tradespeople aren't interested in minor jobs these days

I ended up doing it myself, it doesn't look pretty but it's watertight.

A couple of hours at whatever the rate is in your locality, most of the time being taken up with proper removal of the old stuff.

It took me days to get rid of the old silicone, but it was much easier when I bought the proper tool, very cheap.

thanks barry i did i myself with a stanley blade and a stanley scraper and it was very easy anyone who needs this job doing please get yourself a stanley scraper and a stanley blade and try it yourself first but then putting the silicone back on oh dear the gap is massive bigger than expected i dont know what to do maybe time for the professional
