Well, I'm the world's most private person you could meet, plus a quiet worker. My co-worker told me he's asking her if I have a partner. I don't know why he wants to know. My co-worker lied to him she doesn't know!

I hate it when this happens. I'm just private! How should I deal with this?

I don't see what you have to deal with.  Whoever asked didn't ask you.  If he does and you don't want to tell him, just say you don't discuss your personal life and laugh it off.

Take it as a possible complement, but do nothing until you are approached, if you are ever approached.

From previous posts, it would seem your co-worker is a bit of a "stirrer" - if the guy approaches you, I'm sure you will know how to handle the situation. x

I've worked in an office for years, so have you I think and 1000s of others. This is perfectly normal office chat/gossip. Everyone wants to know everything about everyone else. It means nothing. Don't say anything and if you want to know all the latest about the staff ask the cleaner. They seem to know more than anyone.
