How to find an ex-directory telephone number?

would i be able to get their telephone number other than BT who would not give it ...

Not legitimately - that's the whole point of being ex-directory - there's sometimes a security issue - say a police office/prison officer etc and it has to be infallable accross the board from the occupations above to the person not wanting crank calls - to the person who just doesnt want to be listed in a book with thousands of others.
If you knew the area they lived in you could try dialling that area but changing the last 3 digits each time (whats that about 1000 cominations)
192.com apparently has all the number that are ex directory, but you have to pay for it..

theres other services that do this aswell, I used to work in a company checking that people had recieved their phone book...people would often complain and ask how i got their number..

we used 192.com and another computer system, can't remember the name of it though
I don't believe 192.com they have all the ex dir numbers - just tried a few and didn't work. They also get there info from BT and the like and BT wouldn't give them an ex-dir number -

192.com do NOT have ex directory numbers. You would need a contact within BT willing to help you

that is not correct regarding the 192.com situation

I run a detective agency and we can get ex directory numbers but you may have already solved it yourself however if you havent my email is [email protected]
