Defunct Kindle

Can there be a use for a Kindle that is no longer useable. I lost my password/code and Amazon could not help. They suggested a new one of course. That may be the case but I would like to know if it is of any further use. TIA

Hi again Sir. all goes well until I come to 'solvethis puzzle to protect your account'. I have tried several times but the sam combination keeps coming back. Bemused!

Apparently you need to solve three similar puzzles.  At least that's what I think this Asian lady is saying in her native language.  (She has to google 'ladybug' though, as it doesn't seem to have occurred to the people at Amazon that not everyone in the world knows what a ladybug/ladybird looks like!):
