I have come across a streaming webcam for South Yarra (Melbourne suburb?) station which I find fascinating at busy times. It appears to be a mix of metropolitan and main line trains or trams.
My question: Is the loud blast on the horn before starting mandatory.
The reason for my asking is that South Yarra station is in a virtual man-made ravine between high rise buildings, some of which appear to be residential. This perpetual blasting reverberating within the ravine must become very annoying for the building's occupants I would have thought.
Any comments Aussies ?

I'll have to get back to you on that one 🤗😀
