No. The word "black" has never been considered bad. Whoever told you that is incorrect.
And coloured was last 'fine' around half a centrury ago. Language evolves even if people don't.
For goodness sake.
Why on earth would anyone get their panties in a twist over this. Have a look at the list! I don't know if anyone here like me still works but if anyone sent a professional email that read:
"I think you guys need to man up, and get into a powwow"
most people reading it would find the language odd.
Not everyone is in their 70s.
