Emails On A Go-Slow

At night I lie in bed and use my Kindle to access the internet.  If I find something interesting I email it to myself using my gmail account.

In the last few weeks the emails are taking about ten minutes to arrive in my main email account, some have failed to turn up and others have been treated as spam or bounced.

Why is all this happening?I

You've not said how you're accessing your account.  If it's using a web browser (rather than through a dedicated email app), try clearing its cache and cookies.
