Heat Resistant Glue

Can anyone reccommend a glue that is heat resistant when dried? I had cause to glue a flexible rubber piece onto my cooker, it was fine until I put the grill on and the heat from the grill caused the glue to soften and the piece fell off. The piece is a seal on the cooker housing and is not directly under the grill. It appears as if the metal surrounding gets hot and the glue melts. I hope I have explained this so it makes sense! Thanks in advance.

Could you secure it with a jubilee clip?

I hate to be a party pooper but if you have to ask this sort of question then you shouldnt be fiddling around with anything electrical or Gas.  Glue drops onto wires/tubes can have catestrophic results.

None of the 'hard' glues are likely to be successful because rubber is very flexible.

I would use heat resistant/high temperature silicone.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I can't fix with a jubilee clip as it goes straight onto metal, nowhere near an edge. It is nowhwere near gas outlets or open flames or I wouldn't try it. I think I have found what I need on on Bookbinder's answer - thank you.

I'm glad that I could help.
