Headline in the DT today about Kinnock fearing a repeat of 1982 as Joe and Jenny Public aren't in love the leader - and the chairman/woman Anne-Liese Dodds echoes similar sentiments - "We can be very good at losing elections people thought we would win. Think of 1982."

an election isn't a TV dating show, and imho news posts shouldn't be having a dig at other ABers' health.

As far as I can see - he is saying that the bogs round where Gully is, dont flush. Ay have no information on that . (*)

Gullz is made of sternet stuff innit? It is the mad mods who go "oo whoopsy" and delete when really it  is something else that has attracted their ire.

(*) you used to be able to buy mock certificates ( obvious place to keep: the bog) where the " Royal Loo-logical Society awarded something for the number of sheets used". AB keeping up standards again

[yes loo-oh-logical, like Zoological]

who said I was asking after Gully's health - more the risk to it that could accrue with the stresses of the election to come. Evidently, someone is bereft of any humour - shame.

DTC....no worries there...most comes out via his keyboard, hence no paper needed.

are you sure he isn't using his printer to save the spiel for the Kremlin?

Wasn't it at a rally in Sheffield that Kinnock uttered those famous words: We're all right.  We're all right.

Maybe they're not counting their chickens

Question Author

can't remember that - but then I was living out of the UK....

Kinnock snatched defeat from the jaws of victory by celebrating Labour's election win before they'd actually won. He's quite rightly embarrassed about it.

I don't think that'll be happening again. That lesson has been learnt by all parties.

clinton and Kinnock share the same attribute - their wives were brighter than they were

o god the prefects have been around cleaning the loos ! deleting my entry - gaw-blimey

AB really doesnt do irony innit? Gullz is remarkably healthy and compos mentis, I reassure readers

Is everything alright at home?

It is the Daily Torygraph so they will latch on to anything in desperation.

It is extremely unlikely that the present Tory party and its leadership can do a Lazarus.
If Labour's only problem is over confidence, then they must be happy with that. Surely better than going into an election that you know you are going to lose.

Short of giving every voter £20,000,methinks the Tory nationalists and the SNP nationalists are going to get a good hiding the next election.Maybe its just me.

Here's an interesting interview with Kinnchio, he says it wasn't planned like it turned out and he reckons they'd already lost anyway.

I've amended the title.

13:19 So I assume you will be altering Gullivers many posts directed at me then?

and tora's posts directed at gulliver?? lol

Has the PM just said the Labour Party represents an existential threat to our country?

I'm sure they're all patriots, as he is.

If they can't (or won't) do summat to stem illegal immigration they are ALL an existential threat to the country.

Gullz is a stronger fellow than that - big strong boy, sticks and stones etc
