I can't do links on my phone but what do we think of the new portrait of the King.

Looks like a sea of blood to me..dreadful piece of art.

It's good - but I can't get Thisoldbird's 'sea of blood' out of my mind.  That put me off a bit.

I'd guess at a van rather than Eddie Stobart but it's all food fun. 😄

Good fun too. 🙄

pata ~Khandro, did you actually read the article?  4 sittings by the King, and much work in between. Its a rather large canvas.~

It's a 'rather large canvas' but a small portrait: really just a head and pair of hands.

There's many hours work gone into that face and Charles could not sit for long with that slight smile. It's done in a studio from a photograph and as I say above: nothing wrong with that.

pasta, better still pastafreak. aplgs

It's growing on me, although the symbolism implied by the red is still disturbing. The actual portrait is great; would be better without the butterfly which is too cliche.

I love it and agree with jackthehats sentiments.

And also maydups, about the butterfly, better off without it.

I think it is superb and that it is probably the canvas that establishes Yeo as one of the best contemporary artist of recent times. I did however laugh at The Times cartoon skit.
