Is Aol Any Good?

I have a friend who has an AOL email address (in Germany). Several times we have had problems because he hasn't received my return.  I don't have such issues with anyone else. He now says he didn't receive my answer - not for the first time has this happened.

Does anyone use this email provider any more?

I left it a while ago - 15 to 20 years, maybe - because of various problems. I don't know anyone who still uses it. It's easy enough to get a free Gmail account.

AOL doesn't get good ratings on many review sites. e.g. https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/aol.com

The biggest email provider in Germany (even more so than Gmail) is GMX:
https://www.gmx.net/

It's part of 1&1 Mail & Media GmbH, which is one of the world's biggest internet companies.  I use their UK email service ( https://www.gmx.co.uk ), as do many other ABers, and I'm happy to recommend them.

Thanks Cj & Chris; That confirms my suspicions. My friend should really change his provider - which would prevent me having to wait around in vain for half an hour at the golf course.-

Trouble is he thinks it's my fault, though I've used 'reply' to his emails & got a 'sent' signal from mine.

I have used AOL email since day 1 back in the 90s and have never had a concern. I wont be changing now!
