Just watched the last episode after recording it, and it cut off before the end!  So annoying!  Please will anyone let me know what the ending was?  I saw up until Hana was sitting on the sofa with her father after he had read her mother's file.

Thank you.

I've not watched it but this looks as if it might help:

Watch it on ITVX. Fast forward to the end

Don't you have to pay for itvx? It had a QR code or password.

ITVX is free.  (There's a 'Premium' option available, at £5.99 per month, which gets rid of the adds and gives you access to some additional programming, but the regular service is free):

You're only about a minute from the end there. He reads the file but we are not party to it in any detail. Hana asks to be told all about her mum. Fade out to some pictures of her and her mum when she was a child.

On the whole I liked the series, it's great to turn the tables on the yanks now and again. We are always the bad guys in a lot of their productions! I think the Chinese will enjoy it too.

Can't believe the Chinese embassy wouldn't have more protection at the rear, just let anyone wander in off the street

I was a bit disappointed, it may be becasue I didn't give it more than 50% attention after the first 2 episodes but I think it got ridiculously convoluted and complicated as it went on.

10:26, Maddy calls the Chinese Embassy guy before luring the Yank bloke there. Clearly they made it posible for them to get in the back way so they could nick him.

Then surely they wouldn't have the yank get off a shot at the doctor.

well perhaps they were a bit slow.

I watched the last episode on ITVX, where it's headed "Series 1" - a hint of more to come, if not with this storyline, perhaps from the characters?  I enjoyed it, daft as it was at times.

It's not an indication of further series - all ITVX series, even complete dramas, are labelled 'Series One'.

That said, 'Red Eye' as proved so popular that a second series has been commissioned.

In the penultimate episode a graphic told us the plane was 3 hours-something from Beijing, so had been flying for about 7 hours.  Then they forced it to return to the UK - no way they'd have had fuel for 14 hours!

Andy - I didn't know that, I think it's either the first time I've used ITVX or I wasn't paying attention before!   Good to know it's been recommissioned, thanks for that.

You are most welcome.

Actually, specific reference was made in the dialogue to that very issue.

A character confirmed that the plane would have sufficient fuel for a return flight, but it would be a close-run thing.

Silliest thing ever! I watched till the end but still don't know what it was all about.

Some things that irked me: Nolan looking for a sewing kit in his hotel room to stitch up his wound. Couldn't find that, but found a stapler - when have you ever seen a stapler in a hotel room?  Later on the staples had turned to stitches that could be cut with a pair of scissors.
Also he "couldn't reach" the wound to dig around to find the SIM in it. Even though he supposedly repaired the injury himself.
More than daft, but I would probably watch another series.

cleverjo: "Silliest thing ever! I watched till the end but still don't know what it was all about." - really I thought it was all very clear at the end. The chip implanted in Nolan contained the 2 sets of source code, both where to allow a hacker to control a nuclear reactor and cause a melt down but one was made to look like the work of chinese hackers. Thus the CIA wanted Britain to abandon plans for a Chinese reactor by falsely showing that they intended to knobble it later. What didn't you get?

I enjoyed it on the whole. I liked the two main characters and even though the storyline was a bit far-fetched it passed a pleasant afternoon.
