If they were ground using a mortar and pestle would they retain all their nutritional value?

I can't see why not, as long as they were eaten straight-away and not left to oxidise.

You'll still have to chew them, Sandy.

Apparently, that was how and why peanut butter was "invented", to make it easy for the elderly to eat this nutritious food. You can also buy other nut butters from the supermarkets.

I'll have a look for nut butters the next time I do an on-line shop.

yes. and yes peanut butter is OK

also try a softer nut ( walnut) or even a dentist !

wobbly teeth are on their way out and it may be better to have them removed

Surely not. Peanut butter is surely there in case someone's swallowed poison and you have to get them to expel it.

 

Nutrition should be fine, just grind them small enough to swallow without chewing, perhaps with a drink.

Or you could sprinkle the ground nuts on muesli or salads Sandy
