Your numbered clues presumably differ from the numbering of the compiler. Your clue 1 and clue 7 refer to other clues. Please tell us what the answers were to the original clues numbered 1 and 31.

That will go a long way to helping you get solutions.

hello gen 2 - i think i get what you mean, my clue 1, was actually numbered 7 by the compiler and clue 2, was number 31, clue 7 is number 37 i have no answers for any of them

Alternatives to No.1 are HOLLY and ERICA

The answer to No. 6 should be the European Hazel (too long) but it may be also known as the GERMAN HAZEL, which fits as (6,5). Check it out!

This will also throw doubt on "Hazel" being the answer to your No.1.
