I have changed my will about 3 times.   I done my own (I copied from another will) it will do rightly.

Anyway my two favourite people (executrix) have come into a lot of money, my other people have abused 1,000s and 1000s of pounds and now have no money whatsoever so I had taken them out of it.

I was to change the will about two months ago and since I found my wealthy favourities - I don't know how to or what to do.

Shall I just leave it and forget all about it.

I think when the time comes and I before I croak it I wont have to worry about it too much as it will probably pay for my care home.

Leave it all to charity

leave it to me ( very poor and indigent)

this is not really wills - but 'who do I leave my lovely loolah, to?"

me me me

No one here can tell you. Just do what you want.

Most people I will leave to are already well provided for.

I might consider a sizeable donation to Monkey World. If you leave 10% or more to a charity it reduces IHT rate (if liable) from 40% to 26%. (I think)

"The estate can pay Inheritance Tax at a reduced rate of 36% on some assets if you leave 10% or more of the ‘net value’ to charity in your will. (The net value is the estate’s total value minus any debts.)"

https://www.gov.uk/inheritance-tax

It is your money and you can leave it to whomever you wish.

I am curious if you have ever mentioned to the favourites and money abusers that you have added or cut them out of the wills?

I had an aunt many years ago who everytime she did not get her own way changed her will.  She had no children as was reliant on myself and another cousin.

In the end her threats and bullying got too much and we cut ties.

no nobody knows about the will only my two witnesses (they are friends/neighbours foremost) - that's it  - I  would like yous all to know I'm not leaving that much as in cash - my house would be the most valuable and that should be divided among them if and when the time comes and if I don't need to end up in a care home  (who knows what is in front of them)

I am getting a bit of an extension to the outside of house and that will eat up a pretty penny.

And if I get a brilliant dog minder for Maxie - I may go away with a friend only for about 3 days some time this year.

It couldn't be any longer as I suffer from separation anxiety with my beloved.

JinnyJoan,

I have to make a will and at this point it's quite easy. Divided 50/50 between my two children.

If I pop off to meet their dad even within the next ten years they will be comfortably off.

If they for whatever reason become wealthy they will still get 50/50 unless we agree between us something differently that is.

Unless you specifically want to leave some or all of it to charity, other relatives or friends etc then the wealth of the recipient shouldn't matter. It's the people you want to give it to and you should just give it with love and hope for them.

My late husbands mother left a third each for her two children and a third divided between four grandchildren (in trust till each became 21.) There are so many ways to give your wealth, large or small, that any combination that you think is fair is fair

Have you left arrangements in your will for Maxie to be cared for?
