... about the ferocity of some Serbian football hooligans.

Surely the masses of England fans would contain among their numbers people who would be more than a match for any thuggish East European?

Our thugs are better than their thugs - really Sandy !

I was surprised - can the Serbian hooligans read? My father ( auuld dead daydy) was mixed with Serbo Croat POWs in  nuremberg POW camp in 1945. Germany was the aggressor. (*)

so I thought there might be LESS animosity and not more

Next there seems to be a certain amount of woke shoulder shrugging amonst the Polizei - hooligans will  be hooligans.

(*) that is long - - very long for AB - for "but we were allied during the war". Yes Iknow some AB jokesters will joke " what war dat den?"

Down there ( Serbo Croatia next part of Yugoslavia) if a resistance hospital ( er Serbo - croats shooting at Germans and getting wounded themselves) was gonna be over-run.... the retreating forces would SHOOT the prisoners who cd not  walk. - eek ! (Heard it from a forces doctor who served with them)

Because mods can follow argument at all: this little ditty shows how hard the serbs can be

patients not prisoners oops

Oh. so no one else has been readin then. Typical sunday afternoon on AB.

Hot blooded and stary-eyed these Balkan types, best avoided.

You set out to compose something that might stir a bit of controversy and it doesn't attract much comment.

Sometimes I wonder why I bother.

Chairs and bottles have already been thrown.  And it's hours to the match yet.

Maybe just clearing a space for a mega group hug.

Should I put in references? That was Dumoulin, Plymouth. I think he rather envied a child cd listen and recount his fathers activities.

Another operating session 1945 ( it has to be 1944-5 as the mixing of the camps took place instead of the separation of armies previously. The Russians were always terribly badly treated by the Germans). Yikes Andy will be after me! - one serbo-croat said to my father, " Arthur Harryovitch, we Europeans must stick together" - showing this serb didnt think he was a slav

Trump - "The Ukrainians speak russian right? so they are russian." 2020 or thereabouts.

we havent heard much of the pan-slav empire....

Peter Pedant, you've been asked nicely to stop mod-bashing.  You've ignored it.
