Mitsubishi Shogun (PAJERO) "K " plate

I have a Friend who has a Mitsubishi Shogun (Pajero) "K" plate. he has problems on Motorways when he goes above 70mph the gear goes back to 4th gear from 5th. But then goes back into 5th after 80mph.

Any advice on what the problem could be?

Well he shouldn't be going over seventy so the problem is solved if he observes the speed limits

We had this problem with a volvo we had. Apparently it was a worn gearbox bush.
