I don't want Jeremy Hunt to lose his seat. I want him to win his seat, then I want Labour to have a large majority and see Hunt squirm on the opposition benches. I think he'd rather lose his seat than have to do that.

there's a great deal in what you say, Clarion. The exodus of ex-ministers had already begun, after all, because none of them wants to be a lowly backbencher ever again now that they've been great ministers of state with their own helicopters and country houses and whatnot. I dare say quite a few of them have already lined up cushy consultancies.

As for Sunak, do you really think he'll still be here in five years as he's promised?

Gulliver1, don't be silly now. I've been the Spare Editor for eleven years. There's no plan to replace me or allow the moderators to do as they please.
