Feeling really cr*p

Isn't it funny how your emotions can switch from one extreme to another in a flash of somebody elses actions or words. I have just started seeing somebody (Jon) on a regular basis after yet another painful split 6 months ago. It isn't really a serious thing it's just someone I am attracted to and have a laugh with and just general company every so often. I don't think I'm ready for anything more as I am afraid to trust and I have my son to protect as he's only 4. Anyway, I have seen Jon at the weekend and had a lovely time and felt the happiest I have in a long time, but then last night he sent a text saying "Hi babe, sorry I couldnt wait for you, I've done it now." It made no sense so I rang him and he said the message was meant for me and that he was saying he had already started watching a dvd we had been talking about. I believed him as he went on about how much he likes me but today my paranoia kicked in while I was at work. I text him and said that if the message was for someone else then that is ok as we arent fully together but I would just appreciate his honesty. He replied saying it is me he likes and he hasnt felt like this about anyone for a long time and he wants me to trust him. So I said good, I just want to make sure you are who you say you are and we should base the relationship on friendship before anything else. Then he started getting funny thinking I said I just wanted to be friends and as I dug myself deeper and deeper he is now ignoring me. And now I feel like a big pile of poo. I can't text him again as that would be verging on stalking and i also feel that it's my fault for texting in the first place. If we're only seeing each other casually I shouldnt be bothered should I. But I am. So sorry for ranting on but I am on the verge of crying and no-one else to talk to as I have been keeping it quiet for now in case it didnt work out. Thanks for reading.

Oh my dear, you do sound like me, I always fear the worst in these situations, but DONT. STOP NOW. Bite the bullet and call him, dont text, TALK. What have you got to lose? You dont get anything or anywhere in life by doing nothing. Put yourself and your happiness first, DONT do what I do and court disaster. It will be ok.

I'm the same too, one bad word and it's all over..........in my head anyway!!! Same as roughquest really,,,,,,,,,,,,,talk to him, you will tie yourself in knots thinking of all sorts of possibles, maybes, could-be's, when you could be completely wrong!! You know we're right!!! Give him a call, if he ignores that too, then he's not worth it, and you are worth more.
Sulky bloke - forget it!!!

Thanks guys n gals. I've resorted to the wine now and texted him to say hope he's having a good night and I look forward to seeing him soon. Somebody slap me. If he doesn't text me back I'll really regret this. I can't ring him as he's out with his friends. I feel like a stupid teenager!! (prob sound like one as well, sorry.)
