I reckon tercentenary is a 300th anniversary and that tricentenary is a period of 300 years, so tricentenary is the answer here...

Both tercentery and tricentenary are adjectives so perhaps the answer is tricentennium .

I considered all this - BUT Chambers states that tercentenary and tricentenary are identical, and do not list a word such as tricentennium, etc. I agree the question doesn't define it quite correctly.

Webster Unabridged (via www.dictionary.com) gives tricentenary as both adj and noun (noun is given as a period of 300 years). Same site gives no result for tricentennium...
