How does this work?

There was a topic, Internet and Technology, - mysteriously it's no longer available, so this topic section is the nearest I can find. The other night there was a localised loss of broadband service for a few hours. Before I discovered the problem was at the other end , I had a look at my connection settings. I must of disturbed something or other. The connection from my ISP was made O.K. again after a few hours, but now I sometimes get this annoying dialogue box saying connecting to WAN Minniport. I just click the cancel option and that's that, everything continues as normal, but it's annoying. Does any one know what I have done wrong in fiddling with the connection settings when realy there was no neccesity. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, quite true! Thanks in advance for any help.
