Where was I? Sunday Times

I believe that the coastal town is Caernarfon and the Fort is Segontium.
Can anyone confirm this for me?
I cannot find any reference to the Forceful river, which makes makes me dubious about my answers.

I agree with jane56.

The 'Forceful River' led me to Lancashire and Cumbria - fort Galava but I ignored this because of the later clues.

Just for completeness though - I got the second poet (with difficulty) as R. Williams Parry but I can't get the first one (Old Memories). Anyone got it?

Hi Jane 56, i reached the same answers but i had problems with the forceful river and only found 'vigourous river'
