Good evening, a stiff one in comparison with last week’s Spectator! NACW’s wish has been answered. Help with the following would be appreciated, thank you!

10a            Queen and peer she’d seduced, knight stops and berates (10)

23a            Holy book new rector gave Di (7)

5 d              Chairmen may do this stuff in bedrooms (10)

17d            Jack strolls miles away each noon in the year (4,6)

10Reprehends

23 Rigveda

5 Headboards

17 Able Seaman

I'm hoping this big kickstart will get you moving, Matakari !

Ah. I missed these. I enjoy your posts. If you have any more I'll try to help as it helps me regain some of the crossword skills I had 30-40 years ago when I regularly did Sunday Times and Telegraph  and my mother's Guardian, before losing the habit until I discovered answerbank.

Evening, NMA. You're welcome to parse those answers for Matakari if you'd like to. I seldom bother for myself and don't always do it for others.

17d- i can see jack = sailor= able seaman as the definition.

I think strolls is AMBLES, then lose the MS (miles) to give ABLE

I'll work out he rest of that one after Corrie

23a simple anagram of Rgavedi

10a R from queen. plus anagram of PEER SHE'D and N for Knight

Break on Corrie;

5d -straight double meaning- a chairman heads a board, so chairmen head boards, and headboards are things in bedrooms

Many thanks, NACW and newmodarmy, I enjoyed the parsing! I have a few more that I'm trying to work out myself.

Thanks, Matakari. You described the last Pabulum as 'a nice little challenge' (and struggled with it), so I was pleased you said this week's was 'a stiff one'!
