I have heard about these teeny tiny computers for some years but have never used one.

In this week's Computer Active there is a detailed article about using it with Diet Pi to block all adverts on every device connected to your wifi, so I'm interested.

If you have this set up, how effective is it?  Does it slow down the internet in any way?  Was it easy to get up and running?

In using a Raspberry Pi to block ads on your home Wi-Fi, you take up the hobby of running a home server. I started last year by installing Home Assistant home automation on a Chromebox. I've not tried the ad blocker, but I can help with the easiest route to get it set up.

Thanks for your reply, Psalm.  The magazine 'workshop' states you only need a Raspery Pi Zero (I think that's it, I don't have the mag to hand) and a memory card with Diet Pi installed.

Fiddling with the router settings is required

The research required for a Newbie to set up a Raspberry Pi is extensive, whereas the Zimaboard is beginner-friendly. Here's what the Raspberry Pi Lite setup looks like.

It's a shame you don't have a access to the magazine article, Psalm, it estimates 2 hours to set up.

I now have the magazine in front of me and the requirements:

Pi Zero 2W; Diet Pi Software; Etcher; Pi-hole

And of course a USB charger with micro USB connector
