have i read this all wrong?

Ok, i just had to go pick something up at work and the security guard (who i use to really like for years) but as always i never had the bottle to ask him out, so i gave up was there.
Anyway as i was signing my name for the package he said did you use to go to blah blah school and i went yes, why did you? and he goes yes & then he says i was looking on friends reunited and saw you on there - the thing is i was a different year to him. Do you think that is the case or he looked me up?
If someone said that to you would you think they like you? Also, i was going to send an e card via friends reunited to him - a blank one that just says hi and who from - is that a good or bad idea? Its just as I was talking his phone rang, so I just went and I didn't really say a lot to him and as he is hidden away in the building I never really have much of a excuse to go to where he is. Thanks :-)

Well i sent the ecard but you cant put text in it - just says hi and from - i will see if he sends one back if he does then i will make an excuse to see him - lol - he probably cant stand me and now will think yuk why has she sent me that card. I just thought it was weird as i didn�t even know he knew my name (we are a massive company) mmm.
Surreygirl... don't make me come round there and insert a foot up your a55 as it would a) hurt and b) upset me as I'm very passive aggressive.
He (and any other bloke) will most certainly think 'yuk' if you walk around thinking like that as it will come across in your body language, the way you speak and how you hold yourself. I've read some of your threads on here before and you almost seem to be apologising for breathing... STOP IT!
You sound like a nice, attractive girl who makes the best of herself at all times and is always keen to smile. Walk around thinking that instead and hold your head up in the knowledge that you are. If that bloke in your office is with someone else, so what, his loss. If this bloke doesn't respond, big deal, there are others that will.
And before you say that this is easy for me to say, I am not the perfect size 10, pretty far from it actually, I do not have men flocking around me at all times, I am not coupled up, or below 25 in the age range or anything special looking. But I do think I'm a nice person and worth talking to. So should you.
And don't worry about when that someone special will come along, they'll come along when you least expect it and not when you go looking for it (so I'm told).

Awww that was really sweet of you to send me such a nice msg - i will try and be more positive lol believe it or not i use to be and then various things happened and now i feel like if I could hide away in a room lol then I would. I guess i spend my life getting digs from people, so I guess I am just like that now. I just feel that I always end up with blokes who end up treating me like 2nd best � even one was only dating me to get closer to my then best mate. I really have never had a serious boyfriend who was nice.
But you are right I need to come across as more positive � I smile a lot but I am rather quiet these days. My Dad even says how much I have changed I use to be the life and soul and now I am the total opposite (but again certain things have happened that have made me like this). He says I walk with my head to the ground and always says lift your head up � didn�t even know I did it lol.
I just feel like now in my 30s I need to start getting out there � but there is nobody out there to go getting out there with lol.

Various things happen to all of us Surreygirl, you can either learn from the past or live in it. Living in it is not going to get you very far.
As for the blokes, did they actually treat you as second best or did you feel second best so noticed and read far more in to things than were maybe there
Hold your head up, walk in to a pub like you own it, bluff your way through a conversation and act the complete oposite to how you feel. Soon it'll become second nature. And sooner than that, you may even start to like it, maybe even love yourself a little bit more too.
Sorry to be so blunt but I've felt that you've needed a stiff talking to and some tough love for a while.... none of this is said out of any malice at all. I just hope you take some of it on board. xx

Oh no I have taken it exactly how you intend (funny enough I am a very blunt talking type of person) so I don�t mind it myself :-) and I will do. I think its just hard to get the confidence back when you haven�t had it for so long � but don�t get me wrong I am not an emotional cripple � but I am one of those types that needs a kick up the backside and that. Thanks again for your cool msgs � the funny thing is in certain situations I couldn�t be more confident but at work and with men I am the complete opposite � weird eh lol :-)
