No they're not.  Read your link.

Question Author

that's what my link says

It's what happens if 'peacekeepers' interfere by wandering around in a war zone.

Question Author

"Israel has faced international condemnation for previous instances in which Unifil troops have been injured in southern Lebanon - with the IDF admitting responsibility for firing toward UN posts in some cases."

"

On Saturday, Unifil said a soldier had been shot at its headquarters in the city of Naquora - though it did not know the origin of the bullet.

The day before, the IDF said its troops were responsible for an incident in which two Unifil troops from Sri Lanka were injured.

On Thursday, two Indonesian Unifil soldiers were injured falling from an observation tower after an Israeli tank fired towards it.

Those incidents prompted rebukes from several of Israel's allies, including France, Italy and Spain. A Downing Street spokesperson said the UK was "appalled"."

i don't know of you are aware of this khandro but israel committed a horrifying massacre in Lebanon over two days in 1982. I expect the UN might be a bit worried that they'll do something similar if left unsupervised

untitled, I don't see where it says they 'attacked'.  It gives reasons for doing what they did so to claim 'attack' is, I think, dramatising it somewhat.

Question Author

firing on people counts as an attack in my book

There is no peace to keep, so what are they doing there ? Acting as human shields ?

UN 'peacekeepers' are as useless as the UN itself, which has been so since it was founded.

The only way peace can be achieved is for one side to prevail or for politicians to reach an agreement.

Soldiers in the front line obey orders from their senior officers, no one else.

Question Author

soldiers can actually refuse to carry out inhumane orders khandro

Have you actually read the article, Unititled?

Israel advised the UN peacekeepers to "immediately" get its troops "out of harm's way" in a video statement issued by the PM's office on Sunday, claiming that their presence in the region made them "hostages of Hezbollah".  Unifil has so far refused these requests.  So they are not in any position to complain- they were warned.

Question Author

why should unifil do what israel tells them? they are there to provide humanitarian assistance and prevent massacres like the sabra and shatila massacre. Israel just wants them gone so they can commit atrocities.

🤣

I amazed this thread has stood the test of time ( 15m) - obvious offender against rule 16 - objectionable to one or more mods

a little miracle in Gaza and there arent many !

I don't see where it says they 'attacked'  ( usual suspect) - like in "I fired at you but didnt attack you" - erm, is the IDF full of Jesuits?

I had wondered where Gaza and Leb had gone since Untittled's last post ( evenin' untitled!) and concluded it had been bombed into Peace -  flat and peaceful and dead

Untitled, //soldiers can actually refuse to carry out inhumane orders khandro//

god we were earnestly discussing this on the International Law course fifty years ago and even came up at Nuremberg

yes they can but they might get shot for refusing an order ( which might in itself later  be a war crime but that  it not mmuch good to a refusenik

dont beat up that Palestinian !

I am not beating him up, I am asking him his name sir,

christ he looks dead to me....

doesnt matter, I get his name and address sir
